Tiscali offers several services, both Dial-Up and broadband, from which to choose from. You can get one of their dial-up packages if you are not in a broadband-enabled area for as low as 1p/min., or a high-speed broadband package for as little as £14.99/month. Each package comes with unique features, but all are accompanied with 6 e-mail addresses, and the ability to browse, chat, do research, and gather information and news from the internet. Overall, Tiscali offers great internet services for reasonable prices.
Trial Period
There is no trial period at Tiscali to speak of.
Setup
With Tiscali, set-up is free, as long as you have a BT analogue phone line. In order to get broadband, you also must know if you are in a broadband-enabled area.
Access Numbers
As long as you have a BT phone line, Tiscali’s internet services are accessible to you. If you choose a broadband package, just make sure you are in a broadband-enabled area by putting your postcode into their accessibility checker on the website.
Tech Support
Tiscali provides its customers with several ways in which to contact them should the need arise. They have an extensive and specific FAQ section on their site for those who feel they can figure things out for themselves, an E-mail for each aspect of their service, and phone support if you really need to talk to someone. There have been some complaints, however about long hold times, and an unresponsive support team. Also, they do not offer online bill viewing and paying services.
Computer Skills Required
There are only minimal computer skills necessary to operate Tiscali’s services. All you need to do is follow their easy installation instructions, and you’ll be surfing the web in no time.
Email Addresses
Tiscali offers its customers 6 e-mail addresses with all of their internet service packages. This is an average amount, since some internet providers offer up to 15, but some offer between 1-2.
Cancellation
There is no sign up for a minimum contract period with Tiscali, so as long as you follow their terms and conditions upon cancellation, you should be fine.
